A newsletter from PBHHH arrived in my email announcing training for hospice volunteers. My family had experienced the need for hospice twice, once in Ohio and again in Florida. The relief my family and I felt when the hospice volunteers arrived was beyond measure. Home Health Aides offer assistance with personal care such as bathing and dressing, light meal preparation, and simple household chores. Our staff of Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses provide each patient with “personalized” care. Patients may be visited by the nurse as frequently as twice a day or as seldom as once a month, depending on the patient’s physical condition and the physician’s orders. The VNA’s trusted caregivers help with everyday tasks like providing transportation, setting up medication reminders and assisting with around-the-house responsibilities. VNA caregivers are insured and undergo background screenings to preserve the safety of your loved one.
